OCR AS Level Chemistry A Paper 1 - Breadth (14th May 2024)

Personally this was one of the best exams I have ever taken , i found it very easy and doable. however everyone else I know who does chemistry also found it easy, so grade boundaries might be high.

How did you find it?

i found it okay tbh! got confused with the 5 marker on the descaler thing but might still get a couple marks on it

Is there any reason for such a high grade boundaries for chemistry to get an A

Honestly , I think it is because some questions are really easy , you just need to grind out past papers and you are guaranteed an A. Good luck for Depth!

Yah I got that tooo ! Grade boundaries are about to be ridiculous

Damn I got 8.94 so I guess I forgot to multiply by 10 , hopefully thats only a mark lost.

It was about finding the percentage by mass composition of ethanoic acid in a descaler , weird question tbh

What was the 5 marker again?

It was on titration, there was one on homolytic fission

I got 92.3 i think I used the wrong volume when working out the moles

i got 681.5 for the bond enthalpy and 3.6 for the gas......

What was the question on homolytic fission?
