Mechatronics in University of Glasgow

I got offer for mechatronics in University of Glasgow but I want some insider information like about subjects , assessments , competition (racing ,robot fight ,etc as in some universities),etc
But I don't get anyone from my course on unibuddy.
Is anybody here who can help me or tell me a way to connect with current students?
Hi @VikramDeol,

Congratulations on your offer to study at the University of Glasgow!

May I ask whether you have applied for the BEng/MEng or MSc Mechatronics course?
More information on the programme structures of these courses can be found here:
https://www.gla.ac.uk/undergraduate/degrees/mechatronics/
https://www.gla.ac.uk/postgraduate/taught/mechatronics/

You can also chat with current students at the University of Glasgow here:
https://www.gla.ac.uk/study/studentlife/askastudent/
There doesn't seem to be an available student from Mechatronics, but please feel free to get in touch with students of similar subect areas about their studies (Engineering, Computer Science, etc.).

More information on societies at the University of Glasgow can be found here, including a filter option for "Technology and Gaming" societies: https://www.glasgowunisrc.org/clubs-socs/find/
As a student, you can also start your own society. There was recently a Robotics Society that is not currently on the SRC website, so reaching out to them on their socials could be helpful.

I hope this helped!

I know this is a late reply, but I recently just finished my first year in Mechatronics at UofG.
For the 1st year, besides from 1 or 2 modules, everybody in engineering does the same modules so it’s very easy to meet people from different fields in engineering.
For my year, all exams (except dynamics) were online in both semesters. For me personally, I struggled in my first semester, but I found the second semester a lot easier. This may be due to new experiences and a new environment.
There were a couple subjects that had midterms and mini quizzes that counted towards your final grade. Maths had block tests (3 in each semester) where you would have to answer questions and each test was worth 4% of your final grade (24% in total).
I’m sorry, but I don’t know much societies but I am aware that there currently isn’t a robot fighting society available. However, me and a few friends are trying to set one up for next few years so if you would be interested, let me know is we’re trying to get an idea of how many people would be interested.
