Im currently 16 and looking for work experience to do in the economics field as i believe it may benefit my university applications. is doing work experience at the age of 16 too early ? And will it have an affect on my uni application if i do ?

You do not need work experience for Economics. Its an academic degree, not a vocational traineeship, and it wont make any difference to a Uni application. Work experience is only needed for degrees like Medicine, teaching, social work etc.

At 16, all you need is experience of what the world of work is about - and to get used to the idea of working with people outside your current comfort zone. It does not need to be 'relevant' to a degree in Economics.
