AS AQA physics paper 1

How do you guys feel about this paper? I thought that it was quite kind personally - but I am annoyed about optics not being on there as there was absolutely 0 questions on it 😆

Im having mixed thoughts. Some questions were ok and others were not so good. The question about the unknown particles tripped me up (the one with the Feynman diagram). How did you answer it?

well I see why you thought that it was weird! It was the diagram for electron capture and it was a proton + electron ---> electron neutrino + neutron. I said W+ boson and then rambled because I didn't have much of an idea as to why it was I only knew how it was 😆 , then I said for the baryon that it was a proton and a neutron was produced then said about conservation rules!

All the bungee questions ended me other ppl prob thought it was easy man i fkd up so bad

hey don't worry on it too much! you have the rest of the paper yet, don't focus on the weak point and focus on the strong, you will have done great regardless, and we still have paper 2. so pour all of that effort into your next few exams because we can dwell on what we got wrong afterwards, yet now is not the time. I wouldn't say that it was straight forward that question as there were some very weird questions on that paper - cough cough (moments 😆 )

i did not find it good at all. it was going well until the 3 marker on the difference between sound from that harmonic frequency graph

What questions (topics) turned up on paper 1, could you please let me know as it would help me to prep for A Level on 24th.

paeticle physics and nuclear forces, potential divider, youngs modulus, F=ma, a bit of suvat, and fundamental frequency stationary waves

Oh! Thats exactly what I wrote about. Good to know. I thought I did terribly

Yeah, that question was confusing. I wrote that the frequency and amplitude of the harmonics of the new diagram (the one with the finger in the middle) would be higher. Im 70% sure im wrong though

Nah the bungee questions were definitely the hardest. I got weird values for the tension and extension. And when it asked for the reason, i was completely baffled.

all i could say was that it was the second harmonic frequency was 300Hz whereas first graph was the 1st harmonic at 100Hz therefore the sound of the figure 4 has a higher pitch. i know its wrong i just didnt know what the graph was showing at all. and i couldnt give an answer for the speed when the vertical componet is 0. how does the vertical component become 0. all in all the MCQs in paper 2 r gonna save me hopefully grade boundaires r similar o 2023

I just put 0N of tension I was just brain dead after answering the harmonic question and I think that I got a 12 metre extension?

Yeah I just fully skipped that question about the speed being 0. I think it had something to do with taking moments but i just didn’t have enough time. The question about the value of D (air resistance), i got 700 on that. I dont know how i got it, but i did.

I got 700N too!

Nice! How about the 6 marker about the forces between nucleons. I talked about pions, the strong nuclear force and how the repulsiveness and attractiveness changes with distance.

yeah I basically spoke about the same thing as you with a mention of gluons and then went on to speak about how the weak nuclear force also helps stability of the nucleus then W bosons etc!

i got 10ms-1 for one and air resistance i got like 6900 or something but i was just randomly multiplying numbers. six marker was amazing though

How did you find the speed (v₂)
I first found Ph, which is √(912²-762²)=501.1
But i had no idea what to do from there.

For the question asking what would happen to the resistance of the variable resistor if another L₂ was added in parallel, i said that the resistance increases as the total resistance stays the same.
For the MCQ about which interval of the graph showed deceleration, was the answer from 15 to 22.5?

Also, do you recognise any of these answers. I dont know which questions these answers belong to though.
