Hi @pranav0909 ,

I can only answer about Sheffield Hallam but I thought I'd give you my experience of studying at Hallam!

Sheffield is quite a cheap city in general- the accommodation is well priced and things in general are fairly cheap here! There are lots of different options for accommodation so it's easy to find one within your price range. They are all really nice too and modern which is great, especially for the price.

It's also cheap for nights out too and there are often student deals which means you can go out and not spend too much money!

There are also lots of part time job opportunities here too. As it is a big city, there are loads of bars, cafes and restaurants etc that you can look for jobs in. Hallam also offers lots of Campus based jobs like being a student ambassador which is what I do and it is great way of making some money while being able to still complete all of your uni work as they are very flexible ad want you to get all of your work done! Most of my friends have been able to find a part time job so I am sure you would be able to find one.

It's also just a great university in general. I have found the tutors to be really helpful and you can tell they want to help you and want you to do well which is really encouraging and helps you to perform as best you can do. Whenever I have had a question they have been ready to help me and always answered any email or question I have had and some have even had meetings with me to help. You also get three different tutors assigned to you - an academic advisor, a student support advisor and an employability advisor which are really helpful and it's great to know you have them if you need help with certain things. They are really good at setting meetings up with you if you need it and helping you with any problems you may have.

Hallam is also a social university in general- everyone I have met has been really nice and friendly which is great and you meet so many different people. I would also recommend joining a society as this is a great way of meeting new people, doing something fun that you enjoy and just getting out of the house and doing something fun! I would definitely recommend you join a society a they are great.

There are also loads of fun places to go out if you enjoy doing this. There are loads of pubs, bars and clubs which are great and there are always loads of students out which always makes for a fun night!
If you don't like going out to places like this, there are lots of nice cafes and restaurants and also lots of shopping places too which are great!

I would also recommend having a look on our ambassador platform where you can talk to students who are currently studying at Hallam and getting their insight into different things such as your course, uni life in general or just studying at Hallam. You can access this here: https://www.shu.ac.uk/study-here/student-chat

I hope some of this helps and good luck with your decision making!
