First choice Uni dropped by 23 places in league tables

I am really interested in studying at bangor but now they've gone down 23 places overall and down 105 places in student satisfaction. They looked really good on the last league table but now I'm kind of second guessing myself. I might try looking at clearing at the end of summer but I don't think I can do that if I have my place at bangor confirmed.
Any advice or general thoughts would be really appreciated!

Two things:

1. League tables are often meaningless. Did you like the university itself? Did you like the course? The town? The facilities? The social life? The accommodation? Etc. Have those changed? If not, then stop second-guessing yourself.

2. Even if you meet the offer conditions at Bangor, and have your place confirmed, you can still click the "Decline my place" button and drop into Clearing. The risk is, obviously, that you might not secure a place in Clearing that you prefer.

Both are really good pieces of advice thank you. I'm not worried about the ranking itself, more the reason why it's gone down so drastically. Yes I liked the university a lot but my concern is in aspects that I may not have seen. And have no way of knowing why it's changed so suddenly.
And second bit is a great point thank you, any idea how late you decline your place?

The problem is student satisfaction rates are totally meaningless. It is usually small numbers who have completed the survey and can be influenced by students not getting the grades they felt they wanted. This is why using tables as a means of looking at universities is useless. Small differences can affect places and a difference in say 20 places is worthless as they will be of similar standards.

The real issue is whether you will be happy at Bangor. It is a very small city and quite remote from anywhere big. That is something only you can decide.

As above - these surveys are notoriously unreliable and get warped by daft things that have no real meaning to an undergraduate degree at that Uni. AND the data is from people who left that Uni TWO years ago, and did their degrees during covid. Its crazy to rely on this sort of stuff to pick a Uni degree.

I agree with this about league tables. Edge Hill University managed to claw its way up league tables by banning students from saying anything bad about it. It even had staff breathing down students' necks when getting them to fill in the Student Survey. There was a student there a few years back and they chucked the person out - a transgender student, I think - for complaining about serious problems. This was while the university supposedly had some sort of award. So in short, don't go entirely off league tables.
I did psychology at Bangor, the city and university are absolutely fine.
