OMG i was planning on going onto neuro, but i fear that i’ll be stuck on a degree i may not truly enjoy. so rn im stuck btwn choosing neuro or psych,,

i did apply for kcl for neuroscience w psych Bsc but i got rejected in november, im hoping to get the required grades now and either do clearing or reapply 😭

I was stuck between psychology and neuroscience too! i chose to do a foundation year because typically biological science courses require higher grades and after messing up my exams no good uni would accept me. there is always an option of transfering to kcl after foundation... if i do well i will definitely try that

i don’t think u can transfer after this foundation year tho? u can email them to confirm but i think i remember seeing smth that said this foundation year only lets u go onto qmul to progress; u can’t progress onto a diff uni

I read that you can apply to universities with your foundation grades instead of your highschool qualifications. I'm not 100% sure kcl would accept a foundation but there are tons of other really good unis who do. if queen mary turns out to be a nice place to study at I will probably not consider transferring anymore . i was only thinking about it because I read some opinions on here about queen mary not being the friendliest place

i didn’t do very well in AS exams, so when i applied for unis my predicted grades weren’t so high. i got 4/5 offers tho for qmul, royal holloway, greenwich and middlesex, but i decided to go for qmul (even tho its the longer route) bc id rather have gone to a russle grp than a non-russle grp uni

As someone pointed out above, this may not be possible. Foundation years are not "qualifications" per se and so they are widely useless when trying to switch to other universities.
