How hard are the assignments in higher?

I took chemistry and biology at nat5 this year and have taken higher chemistry and higher human biology next year. However, I HATED the assignments and I don’t think I did too great, though I’m not sure. I’m thinking about dropping one and taking maths instead because I just hated the assignments so much. But my question is, are the assignments at higher much harder or relatively the same? Also, do you think they’re more likely to boost a grade or bring it down?

I am going into S6 very soon but because of covid we did no assignments last year so your probably struggle to get an answer. So I can't really compare there difficulty with National 5 assignments.The chemistry assingement is based on an expiernment (you can look at examples of higher assignments on understanding standards). I wouldn't worry about the assingement you did this year because everyone else is in the same boat! I am sure you have done a lot better than you think 😀!

To be honest I hated them nobody in my class really knew what they were doing but the SQA has said that they acknowledge that bringing back assignments could impact pupils grades and 90% teachers said that their pupils were not ready so they are likely to bring grade boundaries down

The assignments at National 5 are usually less difficult compared to the Higher counterparts. I think the difference between them is the amount of marks required and the level of detail that you have to put into them - for example, Geography at National 5 is 20 marks whereas at Higher it is 30. The good thing with the addition of assignments is that they can boost your grade slightly (if you do well enough).
