Hey @gdixllo

It differs from one degree to the other to be honest and it also depends on what subject did you miss a grade on, as some subjects are more preferred over others. It is possible you get accepted however I cannot confirm that would happen for sure unfortunately but it isn't uncommon to be accepted for missing a grade or two 🙂

Hope this helped, what a-levels are you doing?

Any tips on the best student studios to rent in Leicester (for postgraduate studies)?
Certainly! Choosing student accommodation, especially when moving to a new city like Leicester for postgraduate studies is quite an important decision to make. As I cannot name which studios you should go for, I will give you some general tips:

Ideally choose a place that’s within walking distance or has good transport links to your university. There is the city accomdotion that is only 5 mins walk from campus, you can read more about it just here.

If possible, visit the accommodation to get a feel for the place. The university offers accommodation tours, where you can view the flats and gives you the chance to meet the friendly and welcoming community.

Read more about accommodation on our website, and view the different rooms and how you can apply for them.

Hope you found this helpful 🙂

If you look at entry standards for Computer Science and related subjects in general on www.thecompleteuniversityguide.co.uk, Sussex, which also asks for ABB, ends up with entrants with slightly higher entry grades than Leicester.

Essex, which ends up with entrants with the same entry grades as Leicester, claims to only require BBB-BBC according to their website.

So, even with BBB, it sounds like you'd have a strong chance of getting in Leicester. BBC would be a strong risk though.

Hi there

When applying for a Physiotherapy course with a foundation year through clearing, universities may be more flexible with their entry requirements, especially if you have special considerations such as personal circumstances that affected your exam performance. It's important to communicate these circumstances to the universities and provide any supporting documentation.

During clearing, the university might lower their grade requirements slightly depending on the demand for the course and the number of available places. However, the best approach is to contact our admissions team directly, explain your situation, and inquire about the possibility of lowered entry requirements. 🙂

Hope you found this helpful, Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi @UNI17c

Yes, you can still join a psychology degree course without having taken A-level Psychology. While having a background in A-level Psychology can be helpful, it is not essential. The university designed their course to start with foundational concepts, so students without prior knowledge can catch up easily. So you have nothing to worry about!

Let me know if you have any other questions 🙂

Hey,

Yes! I would definitely suggest to call and explain your circumstances as soon as clearing opens and you have your results.
Unfortunately I am not sure how in demand this course is, every year is different and the number of students accepted and given a place can also vary.

Sorry I couldn't answer that but I would really encourage you to call as soon as clearing opens 🙂

Let me know if there is anything else I could help explain!

Hi there @rutted-piling

I know how stressful this process can be and the uncertainty of it. It is amazing that you are doing an EPQ, that is helpful. During clearing, the university might lower their grade requirements slightly depending on the demand for the course and the number of available places. They will look at each applicant individually and take your circumstances and results into consideration. The best approach is to contact our admissions team directly when you receive your grades, explain your situation, and inquire about the possibility of lowered entry requirements. 🙂

Take breaks and do the best you can do and hopefully you'll be joining us in September!
YOU HAVE GOT THIS!

Please let me know if you have any other questions or worries you have. I will be happy to answer your questions! 🤗

Thank you so much for your help!I’m not really 100% sure with the clearing process. I have been told you can’t go through clearing if you’ve been rejected by that university. So if I wasn’t to get into UOL I can’t go back through clearing for psychology? Idk if I’m right in saying that but this is what I’ve been told

Hi there,

I’m glad you reached out for clarification on the clearing process! Clearing can be a bit confusing, but I'll do my best to explain how it works and address your concerns.

Clearing is a part of the UCAS application process that allows students who haven’t secured a place at a university to find and apply for courses with available spaces. You can certainly still apply for the same course at Leicester through Clearing if they have vacancies.

I hope this helps clear up any confusion. Best of luck with your application, and feel free to reach out if you have any more questions!
