Defer A-Levels and reapply to Medicine due to mental health

My Sixth Form has given me the option to defer my A-Level exams to next year due my mental health, specifically OCD.

My UCAT score this year was 2440 Band 1 and my GCSEs are not all 8s and 9s. I applied for Medicine for 2024 entry but got no interview offers. I have a 5th choice offer for Clinical Sciences at Bradford Uni, which has grade requirements BBC. I feel so unprepared for these exams and haven't been able to do much revision, so achieving AAA (Biology, Chemistry, Psychology) to reapply for Medicine seems unlikely.

I'm not sure if I should just try my best now, get A-Levels done, and if I get bad grades then apply abroad for Medicine (Bulgaria) or start the Clinical Sciences degree and then apply for Med after that post-graduate entry (which I've heard is very competitive). Or defer my A-Levels until next year which means I can do the UCAT again, try to get a better score, and prepare for A-Levels properly. But since my GCSE grades aren't the strongest for Med (the lowest are 6s) and if I get a low UCAT score again, I might not get any interview offers again, so I would have to reapply for the 3rd time.

Any advice would be highly appreciated

I have had several students in a similar situation to yourself. They love studying in Bulgaria and Hungary.

Try your best for A-Levels. If you do well, you may be able to get into a UK uni via clearing. Yes, you can get in via clearing. Had a student 3 years ago, who got interviews but no offers. He managed to gain a place at Leicester through clearing. As soon as clearing opended, he was contacted by Leicester and offered a place.

If your grades aren't the best then look at the Bulgaria option
