Can I get to study for an English degree in university with a BTech in business

I am currently a student who is about to write gcse, I’m worried because I do not do up to five subjects, so most sixth forms might not accept me I have been given the option to do btech buisness, could I go to university to study for an English degree which is what I have always wanted to do

Yeah you should be able too. I don’t think English degrees have particular a-level requirements, but rather just a certain grade you need to achieve. Super prestigious universities might require you to do English A-level, but for the majority of universities you should be good

I would recommend getting in touch with some Universities to see what they require from you. Some courses do require previous study of English Language or English Literature. Best of luck
Most unis will only be concerned with GSCE Eng & Maths. It's only very competitive courses/unis that will want a strong set of 8 or more GCSE results.

If there is a reason that you took fewer GCSE, (such as moving country or changing education systems), then have your referee address this when you apply to undergraduate.

Thank you

You are welcome. It may be worth checking the UCAS website or researching individual universities and contacting admissions.
