Hi there,I received two offers for a barrister practice course, one at city law school (LLM BVS) and one at UoLaw (LLM BPC). I am struggling to choose which uni is better, do you have any advice? Thank you so much!!

I cannot speak on City, however, I have just completed the BPC at Ulaw and really enjoyed it. Different institutions teach and sit the exams in a different order. I found that Ulaw's way of doing both Civil and Criminal alongside each other and then sitting nearly all exams in April/May to be very helpful as it allowed me to get a better understanding of the law and the way in which it operates in general before sitting my exams. Of course, this is a personal preference, but I think it gave me the best chance of getting a good mark in my exams, particularly litigation exams.
I have also found that Ulaw has provided great support through the pupillage application process with various workshops, panel events, interview help and general advice from tutors and course leads on which sets to apply for and how to strengthen my CV before the application round. I also know that if you aren't lucky in your first round of applying, Ulaw provides the same support after you have completed your studies which would, of course, be helpful going forward if required.
I would look into the way the courses are both taught, the location of where to study and see if you can get onto any kind of open day or online event to get a feel for a place. In all honesty, I am sure both of these institutions will provide you with an excellent course and support, so choose the one that suits you best!

I interview candidates for pupillage in my chambers. The place where you take the Bar course makes no difference one way or another. I suggest that you go with whichever is the least expensive option.
