Is it a bad idea to reapply if I've already got good offers?

As the title says. I've firmed the university of Manchester for comp sci and I believe I can get 3 A*s on these exams coming up. I've got a lot of really good extra curriculars and believe that if I reapply to Cambridge I could have a fair chance of being accepted. I didn't get an offer this year due to my poor performance on the entrance exam but I'm planning on doing loads of revision straight after my exams are done. What do you think?

If I defer my offer it means that I won't be able to reapply. I either have to withdraw all my applications for this year to reapply, or start university in September.

I would reapply, it depends how set you are and how much it means to you, if you’re so capable and you know it, why not? + your offers now are more than likely to give you one next year since you have them now

Stick to manny, if you get 3 A* on results day you can always reject them if you’re really set on cambridge, manchester is a lovely city and good for cs tho

I mean, if you think it's worth the extra year and that you would definitely get in I'd say go for it, but Manchester is also great for Computer Science, maybe just firm it and reject it when you receive your results if you're not sure then?

Firm Manchester and wait until the summer to finally decide.

Try as hard as you can to get into Cambridge. The culture at Manchester is pretty rough, I imagine Cambridge would be a much easier place to study.

It is entirely up to you but just because you get grades doesnt mean Cambridge will accept you. Computer Science is one of the most difficult courses to get into with way more being rejected than accepted. You could end up wasting a year and ending up with what you got.

Cs at Cambridge is sooooo competitive.

Don’t just take a gap year for the sake of reapplying to Cambridge. if you have a plan for that gap year (travelling + working/caring for someone) then take a gap year and reapply. I’m saying this bc the most likely result of you reapplying to Cambridge will be a rejection just bc of how competitive cs is.
