what is a special support loan

on my student finance its saying upload evidence for it but idk what it is and it doesn't say anything on the site ? is it the same as maintenance loan or ? cause I only get 5000 for it so idk

Do any of these apply to you?

Student is disabled and qualifies for Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA).

Student has been treated as incapable of work for a continuous period of 28 weeks or more.

Student is disabled and is eligible to receive Disability Premium or severe Disability Premium.

Student is aged over 60 or becomes 60 during AY

Waiting to return to a course after taking agreed time out due to an illness or caring responsibility that has now ended and the HEP are preventing them from returning until a later date

Student is deaf and qualifies for Disabled Students’ Allowances.

Student is entitled to Personal Independence Payment (PIP).

Student is entitled to Disability Living Allowance (DLA).

Student is entitled to Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP).

Student has a partner who is also a full time student and one or both students are responsible for a child or young person under 20 who is in full-time education (below higher education level).

Student is the lone parent of child who is not in full time education as they have not reached school age (under 5).

Student is the lone foster parent of a child or young person aged under 20.

Hi there,

If you get pip we need a copy of your award letter showing you will receive this during the academic year. You can upload this online in your account with cover letter explaining why you're sending it. The team will review this and let you know if its been accepted to award this or not.
