Please help- Question about clearing if failed a levels

Hi i am currently doing my a level exam, my insurance offer is CCC on a foundation course but at this point i have no hope of even getting that due to me keep panicking during exams and forgetting even when i revised and not completing all the questions on time.

But my main question is if i fail my a levels and choose to go through clearing will unis still accept? Because i read that some still have an entry requirement but how will i even apply if i failed? Like grades are very under average.

you get lucky i guess
clearing is first come first served
you give them your grades and they tell you if you can go in or not
there's more info on the ucas website

'Fail' = U grades, and Unis wont accept that.
If that happens, you need to talk to your school about resitting your A levels.

Hey @TwstRiddle,

First off, I'm sorry to hear you're having a hard time whilst sitting your exams. The build-up to sitting an A-Level exam can be incredibly stressful, so it's completely understandable why you might panic and forget your revision when put under pressure.

Hopefully you do manage to get the grades to go wherever you want to - but if you do get to Results Day and your A-Levels are a few grades below your insurance choice, clearing is certainly still an option. In that case, the best thing to do is get on the phone with any university in clearing that you're interested in as soon as possible to discuss your situation. Students often get into clearing courses with various different grade combinations; there's rarely a set entry requirement. One of the university's clearing advisors should be able to give you an idea if they can accept you onto the course with your achieved grades fairly quickly.

If you can't get a place through clearing with your grades (which unfortunately might be the case if you've achieved U grades in all of your A-Level subjects), remember that taking a gap year/A-Level resits are still an option, and that there are always multiple paths to university/different careers. It's just about finding the right one that works for you.

Wishing you the best for Results Day, and good luck for any upcoming exams,
Eve (Kingston Rep).
