Whilst the academic side of uni is obviously super important, it’s also great to know that whatever uni you’re going to has opportunities for great nights out and social elements to keep you entertained during your down time! I thought this blog would be a great way to give those of you coming to Kingston in September or current students looking for something new a list of options.
Like nearly every uni location, here in Kingston we have pubs and clubs that mean you can enjoy some of the more stereotypical university experiences. We’re also fortunate to have a number of our pubs based on the riverside which makes for a lush summer evening! But if you’re not a drinker don’t worry as there are definitely nights out that don’t have to be booze fuelled! If you’re a music fan, then it’s definitely worth getting to know the Banquet Records website. They host a wide variety of intimate gigs for incredible prices meaning you can see loads of different artists and often for less than twenty pounds!
Wanting something a little bit quieter? Then the Rotunda (located just outside Kingston train station) could be the place for you. With an escape room, a Five Guys, Odeon cinema and now also a Pop Playroom (a mini golf and Korean chicken wing place) there’s a number of ways to chill with your friends and mix up activities to keep your evenings out of the fresh!
There’s also definitely a number of things to do during the day at Kingston too! With a number of cute cafes to chill in with friends, to the Queens Promenade and a tonne of shops and markets, there are some super great options to get out and turn course mates into friends!
Current students what are your recommendations for nights out and social activities in Kingston?
