How did y'all find the paper?
I felt that the paper was a little harder than past papers that i've done before 😬

think I got close to 100%, I’m v confident on everything except the Rf chromatography which I for sure got wrong

Your ideas are intriguing, and I'm sure I'll enjoy them. I often hear from unhappy people regarding a trait that may be addressed with less emphasis on attention-seeking. I firmly affirm that I made the decision to partake in the activity of reading.

yep it was, i want to check the calculation answers with yall:

1) Isotopes calculation: 24.3
2) RF value = 0.615
3) number behind the compound (mole calculations): x = 18 (correct answer = 14) y = 10 or 9 (i cant remember) z = 10 or 9
4) 2755 for Q
5) 0.0085 for the enthalopy change question for magnesium pieces (correct answer = -550kj/mol)

These are all i can remember

I got x = 14 y = 10 z = 9

I think the last question is -550KJ/mol not 0.0085. and I'm pretty sure x was 14 not 18

do you remember how you got 14?

Reply 8

Alkanes have carbon and hydrogen and atoms only to find 14 you just balanced ut out once you found z and y so you shouldve gotten 14, and it was -550

Reply 9

but you got same answers for others right? Especially asking for the isotopes question as it is worth 4 marks

I figured out that it was C9H20 and then wrote out the number of CO2 AND H2O and balanced the equation in terms of oxygen. Because it was like C9H20 + 14O2 --> 9CO2 + 10H2O I think.

I got the same for the isotope one.

u work out y and z first then u use the moles * the number oxygen to find total oxygen on right side. There's no oxygen in the hydrocarbon so simply divide the total number of oxygen on right side by 2

The last question was very similar to 2021 paper in june

550 is right but I’m almost 100% sure they’ll accept 560 as well because that’s the approximate value they give you

yh they do it will say 'accept 560' on the mark scheme cuz ive done similar questions before

Yeah, I think I got the same as all of your (updated) calculation answers. Rf was probably a little different but I’m sure there’s an acceptable range…
