Was the caffeine one simple molecular? So for calcium bromide talk abt electrostatic force of attraction like ionic stuff then was caffeine just simple molecular and weak intermolecular forces

yeah i talked about the structures of both

1.

Fill in the table: lithium conducts electricity, lithium forms a basic oxide, bromine is the liquid at room temperature, diamond has a giant covalent structure, ethene forms polymers + test for chlorine; damp blu litmus paper turns red then bleaches

2.

Magnesium atom: group 2 and period 3, calculating the number of electrons in one mole; 7.2 x 10^24, compound formed with fluorine, calculating Ar; 24.3

3.

Metals and their reactions with water and hydrochloric acid

4.

Caffeine question; number of elements, Ar; 194, equation to form nitric acid, harmful effects of acid rain

5.

Chromatography

6.

Marbles in hydrochloric acid; cotton wool, why the mass decreases, describing graph, explain the effect of using smaller marble chips

7.

Nitrogen and its compound; nitrogen dot and cross, Ammonium carbonate

8.

C4H8 isomers

9.

Hydrated potassium aluminium sulphate

10.

Enthalpy change question

Hey guys, this is all I remember; feel free to add on
Could you get a mark for water as the liquid at room temp

I got x = 14 y = 10 z = 9
So so mad I got that an in last minute I converted it to empirical formula and changed my answer 😭

no because it asked for an element

**** I didn’t read the question I just say liquid at room temp and write water

How did y'all find the paper?
I felt that the paper was a little harder than past papers that i've done before 😬

Really? i thought it was easier

What did you guys get for number of electrons question that you have to answer in standard form

7.2*10^24

Man I multiplied by 0.0005, didn't think it would be this simple

Yeah I realised I didn't add the protons and neutrons 😭

u could have just checked by seeing what was magnesium's relative atomic mass

cant lie found it alr tbh
i forgot the minus sign in last question because it was exothermic so I put plus oops
oh yh I put zinc for the metal S in the multiple choice but it was R because zinc doesn't react with water
other than that I think it was good

oh yh how did everyone do the graph drawing curve of rate of reaction when acid concentration decreased?
i put the curve with a steeper gradient as slower rate of reaction but I think the same amount of product is formed so the curve reached the same level (as in levelled off at same level, just afterwards) if that makes sense lol
some of my friends drew same graph curve but half the size but I think that's wrong?
(edited 4 months ago)
did someone leak the paper for this - there's a rumour some people had the mark schemes bought online

The last question was very similar to 2021 paper in june

there were quite a few questions that looked similar to the june 2021 one or maybe that's just because i did it the night before

i’ve seen some people do that but then continue the line a bit further bc it would take longer to reach that? but you would probably get one mark for knowing it was a slower reaction

I got 13.5 would I still get the mark?

Yeah I couldn't agree more. All my friends said it was super easy but it was a bit harder than previous ones. Anyway I should still get above 85% as before I used to get like 95%; I just hope I was accurate
