Does anyone know the best way to get tops grades in English language GCSE paper 1 and 2 2024?

Hi, i did my English language gcse last year and achieved a grade 8. Personally for question 5, i would attempt 4 detailed paragraphs for 40 marks. To achieve marks you need to do 4 things. 1- use language features throughout (such as metophors, similies, oxymorons) 2- use structural features (a time shift, short sentences), 3- use a range of punctuation (.,?!”; :smile:

and 4- proper use of spelling and grammar. as long as you do these 4 things the overall structure of your essay doesn’t need to be anything in particular. my best advice would be to write a story about something simple (e.g taking a dog for a walk) rather than something complex (such as a secret spy mission with a long storyline) as this will be easier to finish, explain everything you write in much detail, maybe write a whole paragraph just about the setting or just 1 character.
