Does UCL accept BTEC extended certificate?

Hi I’m just wondering if anyone knows whether or not UCL would accept a level 3 Btec extended certificate in place of an A-level? I don’t see why not as the coursework is ******* hard work and the exams are similar to those of A-levels, but some universities are weird about BTEC’s so I’m just inquiring

Also not that it’s relevant but I’m aware BTEC’s aren’t very well respected however I didn’t even know I was doing one until about a week into sixth form, my school just never thought to tell us and I didn’t think to check the school website

It all depends on the course. Usually no, even if they write that they may consider it, they won't due to competitiveness. I had the same frustration with BTECs but I you still can go to a really good uni with BTECs. Even if somewhere write that this is equal certificate, it isn't. A-level harder and unis know it. Some unis require at least one (or two) A-levels in addition to BTECs, so you can take a gap year and apply to top unis, but it is up to you. I've got D*DD and had a place at Bath. And it is not bad despite the fact that my ego tells me opposite 😆. You also said that coursework is hard and the same as A level, nah. I study Business diploma (two subjects) and extended certificate in IT. I study English only 2 years (I came to Sixth Form without any knowledge in English) so it added a bit of complexity. And I had 3 exams for Business. I prepared one week for Unit 3 I guess (Finance and something) and have got D and Unit 1 ( have got only P because my English wasn't enough at year 12). But I've got D's in every coursework, it was easy but really time consuming. IT - 2 exams. one week - D, 3 days - M (database) could have D but I did stupid mistake and didn't save a part of the work. I just wrote it because there is no A level subject where you can prepare one week and get A. So, it is way easier.

The coursework is hard. The actual content is very easy but having to write 15000 words for a single assignment is hard work and time consuming. And business is a Mickey Mouse subject, both BTEC and A-level business would be equally as easy and it’s not really fair to say either is harder. And you say that for A-level you can’t revise for just one week and get an A like you can in btec, but I have on multiple occasions done ZERO revision in my other subjects and got an A or A*. Maybe you’re just not very smart but A-levels really aren’t as tough as people make out, and I feel as though my BTEC has prepared me for uni way better than any of my other subjects have
