English Lit A2 Coursework novels ~ The Picture of Dorian Gray

Hello! I'm currently finishing up my AS exams and will be going onto A2 next year. I'm working under the CCEA Exam board and will have to take part in the comparative coursework of both a 21st century and pre 21st century novel under two novels of my choice. I've decided on my Pre-21st century novel as The Picture of Dorian Gray but have really found myself stumped on what 21st century novel I should compare it to.
I'm interested in writing under themes such as friendship, the purpose of art, narcissism or the consequences of influence but i would greatly appreciate any other recommendations as to themes or comparative 21st century novels. Thanks so much!

hii!! i am also working under CCEA and I have chosen the same book and have came across the same problem but, I have seen people compare "A Little Life" by Hanya Yanagihara for the theme of friendships and thats the only thing ive seen so far. Hope this helps
