Teaching Interview/Task

The following is what I’ve been given as a task for a primary teacher role:
‘Task: To prepare a short early reading (not phonics) session for a mixed ability group of Year 1 children, you can use a book of your choice.’
Now I don’t know if I’m overthinking but I literally don’t know what book/activity to do. Shall I stick to a traditional tale and how can I evidence work as it’ll only be for 30 mins?!

The school follows Read Write Inc. Phonics scheme and the scheme has some story time extracts, shall I plan something on that? Book recommendations and lesson structure will highly be appreciated.
