sfe given the wrong amount

My household income is under 20k. less than a year ago it was higher with two sources of income, but this has changed recently. sfe have given me the minimum maintenance loan of over £4000. i don’t know what to do because i obviously need the maximum but don’t know how to prove this. please help, i’m way too poor to actually live off 4k when that won’t cover half my rent. lol

If your household income has dropped by 15% or more then you need to provide household income for the normal year requested and then also current household income estimates using the CYI form.

Hi there,

To pick up on PQ, do your parents expect their income to drop by more than 15% in the current tax year?

Thanks, Graeme

yes

In this case your parents can complete the Current Year Income (CYI) form and we can use their 24/25 estimates instead: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/65faebab703c42001a58f098/sfe_cyi_form_2425_o.pdf

So, if you want to do this you can upload the form on your account: we're currently processing these forms in 13 working days.

Thanks, Graeme
