I want a girlfriend but am afraid of having one

I am close to 30. I have never dated. I want a girlfriend but am afraid of having one, because of all the dramas and/or responsibilities that would come with it. Is it normal? If not, how/what should I do to get things right?

Mate I’ll be completely honest, no? maybe since you haven’t dated when younger, it’s just become more of a “scary seeming thing”.
You want one? Well the responsibilities come with that. You might end up getting married or living together… if you’re planning on loving someone, you’re going to have to love both sides of their life- good and bad. If you feel like you’re scared about responsibility, maybe because you have a busy life you need to organise yourself? If so, work on yourself- that’s so much more important. You are living for yourself, your body is your temple!

You want one? Maybe go to a cafe, bump into a stranger and have a nice convo. Obviously don’t be scary. Or just start being out more with mates and you might find someone that way 🤷*♂️

To get things right? Just be kind, supportive and let them know your worries too. Literally that’s it. Maybe not straight away though lolz

sorry if any of this came off as mean at all, just trying to be helpful!

My thoughts exactly, what's a 30 year old doing on here? Does uni go on for that long?

There is no age at which you can't be a student, or at which you can't be interested in giving advice, or at which you can't be interested in universities as a topic.

That's like asking a fan of The Spice Girls why they're a fan if they're not a girl. University is for all. Conversation about learning is for all. If you're an intellectual anyway. I assume you're not .

True. I don't understand his comment at all.

I guess that's why it's important to get to know someone really well before you get into a relationship with them. You have to know whether you're compatible with each other, there's no point getting with someone that you don't vibe with. This might take some time, but that's okay. Never lower your standards for someone, even if you're desperate cuz you might end up with the wrong person.
