help me choose my firm and insurance (bristol vs sheffield vs liverpool)

i’m really indecisive and can’t decide where to go so pls help, this is for studying psychology

bristol
pros - highest ranked uni, very well presented course, accommodation looks nice, nice city, was given a reduced offer, feel like i should go cus it’s the most respected
cons - hills, no study abroad (really want to do)

sheffield
pros - second highest ranked, beautiful city, love how the course is presented and enjoyed open day, a lot more societies
cons - wasn’t impressed by the accom, have study abroad but they don’t rlly encourage it or seem to do it often, popped a tire on the way home in the middle of nowhere at night and was stranded for hours(bad omen)

liverpool
pros - loved it at open day last year, accom is so nice and good price, love the city, study abroad
cons - ranked 32nd for my course (lowest rank), went again to the offer holder day and wasn’t as impressed and thought the department wasn’t presented well

it doesn’t really matter choosing a firm and insurance because they all have the same grades for offer, so i’m really struggling which one to pick as the one i firm will be the one i go to, also i have to give my options before getting to see bristol as the open day isn’t until after the deadline so i’m wary to firm it in case i don’t like it but don’t want to exclude it just cus i haven’t seen it yet. please help i will have a breakdown

For all degrees, extras like placements or study abroad add massively to your graduate CV - and Liverpool is a fabulous student city, you would have a great time there. However, you seem to be more focussed on vague stuff like rankings rather than 'the course'. It is important that you check the optional units available in all years of each course - which would you choose if you went there. Remember, its the course you will be studying every day - not the rankings.

Hello,

Congratulations on all your offers!

I have been studying Sheffield for 2 years now and it is a beautiful city. With so many green spaces, it is a great place to be during exam season for a quick break. In terms on picking Sheffield based on your pros and cons, there are so many types of accommodation offered depending on if you choose via the university or if you go for private. There really is something for everyone here at affordable rates too. Sheffield has a lower cost of living than the national average so as a student that can really help out. As you have mentioned study abroad, I have a few friends who will be doing that during their third year and have mentioned how supportive the services have been in assisting them so I am sure you will definitely be able to find the scheme here.

Let me know if you have any more questions

Focus on the course and options for placement/study abroad. I'd avoid Bristol as there is not enough accommodation and some are living in halls in Wales! Rankings aren't reliable ...

my brother goes to sheffield uni, and his course also has a study abroad year - from what he's said, the uni don't particularly push the students one way or another (like you said, they don't necessarily encourage it) but the option is definitely available to all the students on his course. He's thinking of doing it as well. He also has a friend, also at sheffield, who's going on a study abroad year next academic year who's really looking forward to it. idk if thats helpful - but everyone i know who goes to sheffield loves it
I thought Sheffield was hilly?

Sheffield University itself looks pretty but I could never get a grip of the city when I visited it. It just seems kind of aimless.
