If you will be a student at University this September, visit the University website and they will have a list of student accommodation they recommend. In London, you're looking at around £250 per week.

I see. You will struggle to get short term rentals for students as most landlord look for longer term agreements and employed tenants. London rental market, especially at the cheaper end is very, very competitive. You may be able to find a room in a house but again no income will be the issue and professionals may not wish to share with an 18 year old student.

One option I have seen mentioned is talked about, but I know nothing about it, is sharing a house with an elderly person. They charge you a low rent for light caring duties and companionship. You may wish to look this up,if it is something you think you can do. It is more geared towards mature students.

Hi, I have decided to live with friends in London rather than on my own so I have a room to give away which we already paid the deposit for. The owners said that if we can find a new tenant we can have the deposit back.
