I am currently in year 12 but I’m worried about my student finance eligibility. It says on the website that you’re eligible if you’re over 18 and have been living in the UK for 20 years or at least half your life, and by next year when i’m applying for SF i’ll be 18 and having lived here since 2016. Which is 9 years by 2025, however I don’t remember the exact month in 2016 I came here, and I feel it might be cutting it a bit close. Will i be eligible?

I think I’ll be applying to get it after the BRPs expire in December 2024 but I don’t have it yet.

I’m nigerian and i’ve already applied to a course and sfe. They say i need to prove ive been in the uk since i was born but i applied under long residency and the requirements are only half your life if you’re over 18
