Are my IGCSE grades very important, with my current IB grades?

Hi, I know this might be an annoying question which people ask quite a lot. However, I'm hoping to apply to Exeter, Durham, Leeds, Bath, and Bristol this year, and I'm feeling pretty stressed because of my IGCSE grades. I didn't do that terribly, I got BB for co-sciences, B for world literature, B for maths, B for geography, A* for economics, A* for French, but a C in English Language. The C was really disappointing for me, and I'm afraid it might disadvantage me in a lot of my applications (in addition to the high amount of B's).
I'm doing pretty well in my IB, for my SL's I have a 7 in ESS and Biology, 6 in maths, for my HL's I have a 5 english lit, 6 geography, and 6 French.
Do I have any chance of getting in to these unis? Im hoping to study politics.

Most Unis have specific GCSEs they require - usually a minimum English and Maths grade depending on course/Uni.
They may also look at your 'GCSE profile' for very competitive courses, but your IB predicted grades will always be FAR more important.

If you need to resit GCSE English to get a better grade, talk to your school,
This is normally very straightforward, and they would just re-enter you for the exam.

Most universities dont have GCSE requirements for Politics other than the standard ones for Maths and English. Your grades are the equivalent of 5 grades 6, 2 grades 8 or 9 and 1 grade 4 or 5. Unless the university requires a higher than 5 in English you should be fine.

I have just checked the GCSE entry requirements for Bath for Politics and IR and you meet them. They dont appear to offer just Politics. Where you might have problems would be with Economics as they have stricter Maths grades because of the Maths contacts.

GCSE requirements

GCSE English Language or Literature grade 4 or C (or equivalent from English language category C)

I have checked and the English Language requirement for Exeter and Leeds are grade 4. I cannot find anything for Durham so you might need to email them.
