sixth form stem a levels

I know I will 8-8 or 9-9 in combined science for my gcse. but for Math gcse its just not my strongest subject. most Sixth forms require grade 5o or 6 in maths .to take any science A-level. But what happens if I get 4 just in case.

Do sixth forms always stick to a one policy of their entry requirement's?

Usually, sixth forms will stick to their entry requirements, but if you have extenuating circumstances around your results or are an internal applicant, they may allow you to study a science. It really depends on the sixth form, as they will all have different policies. If you struggle with maths at GCSE, you may struggle with A level chemistry or physics (potentially biology, but there is not as much maths involved), which is why they usually recommend having at least a 5 or a 6.

you don't need maths for that course...so pick another subject that can play to your strengths

Some universities such as KCL will require a 5 in maths for dental therapy and hygiene, so it would be a good idea to have maths to a higher standard.
