There’s people paid to make that decision, don’t reject your own application.

If the apprenticeship application date is still open, then you may as well apply, applying early does help but they would have already closed the application date if they didn't want people to apply. Just make sure you passionate about whatever you want to do, really helps to get an offer from the company if they see you're genuinely interested in the field etc.
