Should I stress with replying to my UCAS offers?

I am an international student and have gotten answers from all the choices I applied to. I know that the deadline to reply isn’t before June, but I am wondering if I should ideally make my decision as quickly as possible? Obviously I get that it’s important to take time to make a good decision, as it is a very important decision to make. But is it best that I make this decision as early as possible? Since I am a student from Norway I need to apply for a visa (which I can’t do before having chosen my uni), so I thought maybe that may take some time and would be ideal to get started on as early as possible… I also heard that accomodations fill up quickly, therefore it’s a good thing to make a choice early to have a chance to get your favourite accom. But should I stress about this now or will I still be fine if I don’t reply before a little closer to the deadline?

if you're sure where you want to go then I would say firm your choice as visas can take time etc and you do not want to be in an awful situation where you have your results but there is a delay with your visa and/or you struggle to find an accomodation. It just seems like unneeded stress as moving out for uni is a great challenge in itself and you don't need to make it harder for yourself. As long as you like the uni and your course, you should be ace
hope this helped

If your offers are conditional then you can’t apply for a visa until you meet your conditions. This usually happens after the June deadline to reply to offers.

How long does it take on average to get a visa? I receive my diploma in June and will only know if I have met my conditions by then. Is that too late if the semester starts in September? I do not want to end up not being able to start my studies because my visa is still pending...

Hi there,

I would say if you know what university you would like to attend go ahead and firm that choice. If you aren't too sure than I would say don't stress about it too much but think and look into which university you would like to go to and what the course is like at each of the universities. What course have you chosen to study?

On thing I would keep in mind though is that student accommodation usually has a deadline that you need to apply before and can be different at each university. Usually after this deadline the university cannot guarantee you student accommodation which would leave you to potentially having to find yourself somewhere.

I hope this helps 😊
