Hamlet OCR English Literature help

We are given this: "the play was banned by Stalin; however, in Germany there were 94 productions of 'Hamlet' during the Third Reich (1933 - 45)"

what relevance does it have to the play? is it worth mentioning in the essay?

Honestly, I did Macbeth instead of Hamlet so I don't know if this is relevant. But as a history student, I can say it would be important to highlight why the communists and their ideology wouldn't agree with the play and why fascism would encourage the content of the play. Perhaps that helps? I'm not entirely sure if this is GSCE or A-Level but I would say that for GSCE you absolutely would not need as much detail and even at A-Level, it would only be used if you want to make a solid point about it linking to the essay question you are given. Hopefully this is helpful?
