Are people who go travelling better than me?

I've never been travelling and I haven't visited another country so
far in my 20s - I have no one to go with and I'm not keen on solo travelling.

I have other personal goals that I want to achieve

I get fed up when I hear people saying they went to Thailand, or I went to Japan..

I have low self esteem because I feel people are better than me because they've been to exotic places, and they're living their life.

I find it boring when I meet up with people, they more or less say the same thing, I've been to this country and that country.

I'm trying to push this out of my head

But they're in fact better than me. How can I live in a fulfilled life, it's just so fake and I'm really fed up

Is anyone better than anyone else?

People who go travelling are better travelled than you, yes.

Are they just better than you? Unlikely. It always depends upon the criteria you are using. You may be more well read, better at sudoku, a netter cook etc.

If you don't want to travel, that's fine but don't beat yourself up about it. Measuring yourself by other people's yardstick is a sure way to feel bad about youryourself.D

The things you value and value the things you do.

I used to go to other countries when I was a kid and teenager, but I haven't been anywhere abroad in ages, yet never once do I think other people are better than me for having visited more places than me. People can go to other countries and yet still act the very same way they do in their home country. I think you're putting too much stock into wanting to travel. The best thing you can do is either accrue the money you need to travel to different countries to satisfy yourself, or just be happy where you are and make the most out of it that you can.

There's no way anybody is better than you just because they've travelled around and you haven't. You could say you are a loyalist to your own country and you have way more loyalty than those who have travelled-your mindset can be spun the other way around-but in both cases it really doesn't matter.
