Does it matter what i get in Alevels to become a solicitor lawyer? ( im planning to go to uni in a couple of months but I dont if ican make it for good grades). To break it out, I arrived to the Uk in 2017 as a refugee with zero English and it was really hard for me to understand things and how the British education is and from year6-year9 they used to put me in EAL lesson even in year 10 but it got less and luckily U passed my GCSE exams and got into sixth form and right now, im doing my Alevels exams and im really panicking. What do you think I should do? Becoming a lawyer was always been my dream and i cant give it up

to be a lawyer you will need to get the grades the uni specify on the courses. You can ask for some lenience because English isn't your first language and they may drop the grade boundaries a little (usually by a grade so instead of AAB it would be BBC) if that makes sense. You also need to make sure you got the correct GCSE grades as well.

My GCSE grades for English are good but I’m resitting maths. Also is it important what uni you go to?

I don't think so, as it's usually about being qualified. You normally need 5 GCSE's at grade 4 or above depending on which course you are applying to. Best to look at the uni websites that you like the look of and see what they offer and what grades you need to see if this is realistic or not.

Most universities will require at least grade C or 4 for English and Maths and normally a few others as well. Other than that it is your A level grades that matter. Without fully knowing your grades and predictions it is impossible to answer your question but as a rule high A level grades will be required together with at least grade C or 4 in Maths
