Next Steps? Accepting my Offer!

Once you have decided on the university of your choice, it is time to accept your offer! Upon the confirmation of your offer, you will need to enrol at the university before you start your university term in September! Here is a rough guide for Home students on the process after accepting your offer

Unconditional Offers
If you have been offered an unconditional offer, your place would be confirmed immediately via UCAS Hub. You should check out UCAS Hub or OSIS to see if your status should show as ‘Confirmed’.
Next, check your emails to proceed with the enrolment process, the email should direct you to update your details online
Finally you should receive a AS12 letter from UCAS, this confirms your place in writing and will inform you if you are required to do anything else.
In the meantime, check your emails regularly and sort out your accommodation and preparation to move!

Conditional Offers
The process for conditional offers differ slightly depending if you have met the entry requirements for the course!
If you have yet to meet the requirements, check OSIS as you might still have gotten your place. Alternatively, call the university’s admissions hotline to check if they still have a place for you or get some advice or another course you may qualify for!

However, if you have met the requirements of your conditional offer, you should check UCAS Hub or OSIS to show your status confirmation.
Once your status is confirmed, check your emails for an update to begin your enrolment process! You should then receive your AS12 letter for UCAS to confirm your place in writing and will inform you what else you may need to do.

In the scenario where you have met the requirements of your offer and the status does not show confirmed, it may be because the university is still waiting for your results or may not have all the required information.
Do not panic, check your email where you should receive an email informing you why the university cannot confirm your place.
Follow the instructions in the email or call the admissions line!
Once confirmed, you will then receive your AS12 letter from UCAS!

Once you have confirmed and enrolled onto the course, I highly recommend booking your accommodation(be it student or private accoms) as soon as you can and creating a packing list on what you may need to pack and bring to begin your university life in the coming term! I hope this helps and feel free to drop down any other questions you may have on the comments below!

If you accept an offer that you are not quite sure about yet can you decline after you get your results? I wanted to do med but didn’t get offers. If I don’t make the necessary grades I may take the alternative I was offered instead of reapplying.

Most students don't enrol until they actually arrive at the university. Some of your detail is wrong for many universities.

Hi @Stillwaiting123

I am pretty sure you can decline your offer on results day and after as clearings is open till October. I would say the best thing to do is to have a look into clearing, I have found some useful webpages that I will share here
Clearing and results day | Undergraduate, Conservatoires | UCAS
Looking for a course in Clearing? Learn how Clearing works & find a new place (ucas.com)
Clearing: What you need to know | Undergraduate | UCAS

This should hopefully give you more options when you find out your results so you can find a course and uni that suits you best.

I hope this helps

Grace Thank you so much for replying.
Do you know if medicine ever comes up in clearing. I’m hoping to get my required grades. I would so love to start this year.

Hi @Stillwaiting123

We do offer some of our Faculty of Health, Science, Social Care and Education courses through clearing, however the amount of spaces we have available isn't guranteed.

I have found a list of all the courses we have available for the clearing process. We have quite a big range so I would definitely recommend having a deeper look: https://www.kingston.ac.uk/undergraduate/courses/clearing/clearing-courses/

Good luck- I hope you get the grades you want

Let me know if you have any more questions!
