English Literature Coursework Decision

I need to choose my two texts for the English Literature coursework (edexcel exam board) and I'm struggling on what second book to pick. I need to make a decision by next week.

I've chosen Slaughterhouse five for my first text, and my teacher says It could be useful for context to pick two books by the same author, so I was thinking about choosing Cat's cradle. However, I saw someone online saying I'd have less material when comparing context, so l thought l'd do Catch 22 instead. I read some of the book and found myself not wanting to write about it for coursework (though it is interesting) so now I'm wondering if I should just pick Cat's cradle or look up more suggestions before next week.

If anyone has some books they'd think I could compare to SF It'd be much appreciated.

Hi, I didn't do mine on any of the texts you mentioned so I can't really help in that regard (I did Gatsby and Death of a Salesman) but I would say choosing 2 different authors is a good idea because it will be easier to get a variety of context, however I guess it could be good to compare the same author's experiences/development through 2 of their texts.

We didn't get to choose our texts and I HATED Salesman but I got full marks still so honestly any comparison done well will get good marks - If you really hate your other options, honestly just go with the ones you think you can do better comparisons with overall. Context isn't the only thing being marked. Hope that helps
