Honestly get a new Instructor. I had one who would talk while stationary and this would take nearly 30mins of my lessons. I was doing 2 hours lesson..I realised that this was her tactic of making my lessons short. So I decided to look for another one

I wish I could, but this is my third instructor now. The other ones were soo strict and made me detest driving so I finally found this nice and calm one. I don’t want to keep changing because it just wastes too much time and money, especially when the instructors want to teach you new ways or new routes.

Also, she’s the only one charging a reasonable price for lessons. The other instructors in my area are charging over 40 pounds, which I can’t afford every week.

Mine was very calm and patient too. I was reluctant to change her but the thought of wasting 30-45 mins just talking didn't sit right with me. I was paying £75 for 2 hrs. Are you doing manual or automatic? If you search around am sure you will find a reasonable and good instructor who won't cut your lessons short and ignore your messages.

So yesterday, my lesson was supposed to be at 10, but my instructor came 10 mins late so it started at 10:10. She ended up finishing the lesson at 11:05 instead of 11:10. My mum was annoyed that I’ve been paying for one hour lessons but my instructor cuts them short by 5 mins. She told me she was going to talk to her and tell her this isn’t ok.
Now me being a shy and anxious person, I did not want this. I finally had an understanding and calm instructor and I didn’t want her to ruin anything.
My instructor had told me to go home and send test dates, which she would confirm by text. I sent her one a couple hours after returning and she only read the message, and no reply. I waited two days and still no reply? I asked my mum if she said anything to the instructor but she refused. But I find it weird that’s ignoring my messages when she knows that those dates are gonna get booked and then I’ll have to find another later date.
I’ve sent her another message and she’s just left me on delivered. I don’t know what to do.
Is it normal for instructors to cut lessons short? I feel like the two instructors I’ve been with have never gone above an hour. They always manage to get me home five or two mins earlier.
Your instructor is clearly behaving very unprofessionally and you should consider changing, and also reporting their behaviour to the DVSA
