Does having volunteering at a secondary school look good on my cv?

Hi,
I am currently studying Computer Science at college and I want to get into the teaching profession, will it look good for a future employer to show that I have volunteered my time teaching ICT to Year 7s and Year 8s as currently I am trying to talk to the head of the school I work at to see if I can become an Computer Science teacher for them when I finish college. Or, should I finish my college then get a degree in Computing?

Thanks
Sam
Volunteering will look good on your CV, but in order to become a computer science teacher you will most likely have to do a computer science degree and then a PGCE
Hi,

Like the person above has mentioned, you will need to a undergraduate degree (3 years long) and then a PGCE (1 year long), to become a Computer Science Teacher. The Volunteering will look good though on a CV and a university application!

The Get Into Teaching website is a really good source of information in regards to how to become a teacher and the steps you will need to take to do so How to become a teacher | Get Into Teaching GOV.UK (education.gov.uk)

Good Luck!
