Book recs

Hi there,
After my GCSEs are done, I really want to get back into reading. Wondered if anyone has any good recommendations for books as I have read nothing but Macbeth, Jekyll and Hyde and Blood Brothers for 2 years 😭
Honestly, I'm quite open to a range of books, but not like, comics or anything, I like just reading words and imaging everything in my head rather than having it done for me if that makes sense.
But any suggestions would be appreciated!

It's not a YA but Blue sisters by coco mellors is so good. Basically about a book about grief, loss and sisterhood. 4 girls that have totally different lives but one of them dies(not a spoiler dont worry). I started reading it 3 days ago and I'm about to finish it. I've never read a book this quick. It's such a simple book but I do find it just satisfying and beautiful to read. I've been in a bit of a reading slump but this made me fall in love with books again.

If you want something fast paced and action packed to get you back into reading, then you could try Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson. It's a sort of mix of fantasy and dystopia and it follows a group of people trying to pull of a heist to overthrow the tyrannical, god-like ruler of their world. It's got very fun magic, great action sequences, plot twists and also a sweet romance that doesn't overshadow the main plot too much.
I saw above that you like murder mysteries too so I'd give The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett a go. It follows an apprentice investigator and his eccentric mistress as they try to solve a murder involving a man having a tree spontaneously burst out of him. The world and plot are both really unique and fun!
I've also been really enjoying The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells. They're a bit different in that they're a series of novellas following a robot protagonist who has hacked their "governor module" so that they're no longer obligated to follow the orders of their creators/clients. Rather than go on a violent rebellion they'd much rather just watch tv shows in peace but they step in when their crew's in trouble. Its really good fun and a quick, fast-paced read too.
