Second degree

Hi guys
I've recently graduated and got my first bachelor degree in business and HR management
I'm looking to do a second degree and I want to ask if student finance is available for a second degree, tuition fee + maintenance loan ?
I know that there are some exemption courses that might be eligible for SFE as a second degree
Can anyone advise me please as I can't find any solid information in google
Thanks

As far as I know, the list of courses that you can get loans for are on the following page:
https://www.heinfo.slc.co.uk/resources/guidance/courses-management-service-user-guide/eligibility/equivalent-or-lower-qualification-elq-exceptions/
They should at least fund you for tuition, but I cannot be certain regarding maintenance loans. It's usually best if you confirm with the Student Finance Company.

I think it's more appropriate to look into which specific degree that you want to do. I would also question why you would need a second undergrad.

If the second degree that you want to do can be done via a postgrad conversion course or doesn't require you to have a specific undergrad, then you don't need a second undergrad.
If the job you want doesn't specifically require a degree or a degree in any subject, a second undergrad would not help.
If the role you want to get into accept qualifications other than a degree (e.g. professional qualifications, college courses), you won't need to opt for the more expensive option.

The sort of roles that I can think of where you specifically need a degree of some description are in:

Medicine and healthcare

Architecture

Economics (maybe)

Engineering (for senior roles)

Teaching

Academic research

Social work

Political analyst (maybe)

Hi,
SFE can be very specific so it's always best to contact them directly to confirm.
These seem to be the main requirements https://www.gov.uk/student-finance/who-qualifies.
Best of luck,
