In the near future, will it be possible for transgender people to apply to single-gendered schools? I’ve gone to a girls school for the last 7 years and the thought only occurred to me now. There were some non-binary students as well as some who identified as boys throughout the years, so will this open a new category for future applicants? Or is it not likely to be passed given public disapproval

I think most schools will probably have different policies on this, but I know people who are trans-men who go to the local boys school. However they are in the sixth form (also all boys) so it might be different to joining the lower school?

Between puberty and sixth form I don't see it happening.
For transgender students, the minimum age for hormone blockers is 16 and for gender-affirmative surgery it's 18.
Schools communities are generally prepared for socially transitioning students even FTM in girls school. MTF in boys maybe or maybe not.

Probably not, mainly because Labour will most likely win the election.

Good question.
Less than 6% of schools in England are single sex so that this means those who identify as a different gender may have limited options in terms of opportunity.
I go to an all-girls school. Every one who joins in year 7 is a girl but over the 5 years between the start of year 7 and the end of year 11, there are a lot of people who have come out as either non-binary or male. The school will allow them to stay for sixth form if they want to but I don't think they'd let other male students join.

Single-gender schools tend to be religious. Most religions frown and transpeople and reinforce traditional gender roles. I doubt transpeople enrolling in most single-gender schools will be much of an apart from one-off news stories.
