I'm an undergrad student (male) & there is this girl in my accom who, although idk her very well, we have walked past each other & said hi a few times & i see her around a bit occassionally, but idk her very well. Then, last week, I bump into her in this communal space & she just suddenly starts saying these lovely things to me about how she loves my smile &, no matter what day of the week it is, I'm always smiling & that she's proper fangirling over me & she thinks I'm really cool. She looked genuinely delighted to be speaking to me. I was completely surprised (in a nice way!) by the whole conversation, it was very unexpected & so kind & generous of her to tell me those things. I'd really like to get to know her more &, while I know this convo with her was only last week, she's on my mind a lot & I'm quite attracted to her warmth & her honesty & her kindness & I like that she's drawn to my personality (not just my appearance). I'd like to get to know her more & see if we could be friends — or maybe more than that, but I don't want to get ahead of myself.
So, i am gunna try to talk to her. I don't see her around often, so I'm thinking I'll put a small note under the door of her shared-flat, leaving my number & asking if she ever wants to talk or meet-up (but not in a pressurising way, obviously).
But I just want to ask: this girl said she's proper fangirling over me & I'm not really sure what that means in this context as I've only heard of fangirling in relation to celebrities/bands/actors/shows etc. So what does it mean that this girl is fangirling over me when I'm just a random guy living in the same building as her? & could the fact that she said she's fangirling over me mean that she might like me / be crushing on me? Or could it just mean she'd like to be friends?
Thank you for reading & I'd appreciate any advice & perspective! Thanks 😊
