psychology As a second degree

Hi , regarding the psychology course as a second degree can you please tell me if student finance is available for tuition fee and maintenance loan as well ?

If yes will there be full maintenance funding same as a first degree ( ex 12-13k a year) ?

Can you please also guide me on how to check if a university that has this course available is accredited for the student to receive full finance as a second degree?

Hi there,

Would you be studying Full Time or Part Time? What degree do you already hold? What level would the Psychology course be?

Thanks, Ross

I hold a bachelor degree level 6 in business and HR management, it was a 4 years course with foundation fully founded by SFE

Psychology will be a second degree up to level 6 I believe, and there is full time and part time option
Can you please explain the entitlement finance for part time and full time , tuition plus maintenance

Thanks for confirming.

Psychology at a Part Time level is an exemption course so you'd be eligible for support.

Thanks
So only at part time, full time won’t be eligible for support?

And can I ask how much support, tuition and maintenance?
Full maintenance like I’ve received on my previous degree? ( for ex 12-13k a year for maintenance)

It would only be an exemption if it's part time.

Your funding for Maintenance Loan can vary depending on your study intensity, Tuition Fees for part time can go up to £6935.

Thank you so much

I haven’t chosen an university yet to do this course with as I’m still looking around…
Can I ask what I need to look for when choosing this course to be sure it’s 100% accredited to be founded by SFE ?
I understood that it has to be part time, but there are any other criteria’s like nr of credits per academic year etc ?

Not necessarily no. Just as long as it's Psychology you'll be fine.

Thanks, Ross

Just to confirm this is available for SLC England?
I’ll also call SFE to double confirm this

And the Psychology course can be in any domain, for example BSc (Hons) Psychology?

Would it be distance learning?

Thanks, Ross

No, it’s uk based only but the teaching and assessments are online based

That can be classed as distance learning. If it's distance learning you'd need to provide medical evidence to show you're unable to attend a university in person.
