Durham College Reallocation

hi, i got my college today - and without sounding too up my own backside - i really am unhappy with the college i got. i received my 12th choice even though my preferenve was submitted back in december/january time. a big thing to
me was gowned/ catered college and i literally listed every gowned college first no matter catering and then the rest in a random order. i received a self catered un gowned college which is literally the last thing i want (😢). i have emailed but does anyone know if they will even do anything to help? it’s a huge thing as the college gowned idea was what made me firm durham over warwick and now it feels like ive hugely wasted it! so yeah does anyone know if they’ll even take into account what ive said or will it be disregarded. (ps i do know reallocation exists after results day but honestly the fact this has happened now has put a massive damper on durham for me😣).

Same with you here. I had ranked all the Bailey colleges at the top, but I ended up getting placed in Aidan's instead, which is my eighth choice...

According to their website, it's 'Distance to city centre: 1.9km (23 mins walk)', am still trying to figure out the best way to manage this commute...

The walk is not a bad one, but there are buses if you would rather use these that go from the main road (South Road). Students can get a £1.50 day ticket on these buses.

Heyy, same thing happened to me to. I got given St Aidans college which is ungowned and I really wanted a gowned and catered college😭. My list of preferences were all ranked according to similar traits, so all the self catered and gowned colleges were at the top but somehow I got the complete opposite which is a bit unfair. What I’ve done is I’ve emailed the college allocation people to see if the college I’ve been allocated will remain like this or will they be able to at least take into consideration the other colleges I ranked higher than St Aidans. Maybe you should give that a try!
I wanted a catered college because I dont think I will be able to prepare any proper meals immediately after moving to Durham. And I got allocated to Hild Bede. I cant even choose another uni because I got rejected from all because of my LNAT score. 😭😭

With the email they sent me regarding this, they said that reallocation of colleges will not be possible as they have changed the way they allocate colleges meaning this year a lot of people didn’t get their top choices (like me). So basically you can’t reallocate to a different college unless you have declared that you have a disability that you feel cannot be met by the college to which you have been initially allocated 😐
