Hi there,

Do you hold QTS already? How long would the course be? Can you provide the full name of the course and the university you intend to study?

Thanks, Ross

Yes.

Was there any extenuating circumstances during your previous course that caused you to repeat your second year?

Thanks, Ross

I was doing a combined course so 2 subjects I passed one course but failed the second meaning I had to repeat the second year to complete the full credits for year 2 I then found out I had diabetic maculopathy a couple of months into repeating year 2 and it really affected my life , I have come around to the maculopathy and I’m in a much better place now.

You will be eligible for support but maybe not for Tuition Fees for the full duration of your course due to your previous study. If you have evidence of extenuating circumstances that happened during your time at university we'd need it and a cover letter with a statement of events to gain an additional year of Tuition Fee support back.

The way we calculate funding is

Length of course + additional year - previous study = years of entitlement

For you it would be:
3 + 1 - 3 = 1year of full support.

You'd still have a Maintenance Loan for the duration.

Thanks, Ross
