That’s harsh on Southgate. Some of his decisions have been football masterclass

really? which?

They think it's all over . . . . it's NOT yet!
Gareth still says "I got us to 2 finals", that's like saying I got in a fast car and just beat most other drivers with average cars.

Or, wealthy kids from Eton & Harrow are more intelligent that other kids cos they are more likely to get to OxBridge.

He and most pundits don't understand what a spurious correlation is.

Gareth is a nice guy with people skills, but he is not a good football tactician.
To carry on with him would be the definition of insanity.

The Ivan Toney substitution several games ago. Or the swap of Saka and Cole Palmer. He has been unfairly treated.

That's not "masterclass" it's remedial class, very slow learner, how long did Toney get? How long did it take him to realise Kane was adding nothing?

Subbing is basic not masterclass, he even got that wrong.

2 finals is not an easy feat and you are being unfair. Look at the competition and be honest. In 2021, Southgate played against one of the greatest defensive combination in the history of football with Chellini and Bonucci. Yesterday, he played against one of the finest young team in the history of European football.

Yes, the public criticism of Southgate leaving on Harry Kane is fair but Southgate is loyal. He could not simply dump his captain who has served this country for years.

This is so wrong. When Pep or Mourinho did it, they were called football geniuses when Southgate did it he was called slow.

Served country for years = nepotism.
Any and every other player that was prevented from being used would have happily "served".

The FA don't want to admit they were wrong so if he goes today it will show even they have to admit what many have been seeing and saying since long before the Tournament.

Nepotism? England’s greatest striker? This is Harry Kane that you are talking about. A fine specimen of footballing prowess.

What have many been saying about Southgate? Did I miss the memo? He’s being considered for a knighthood.
Sum up to the final:

Spain is the most deserved winner, England was finally punished for their passive matchplay and the Kane curse goes on. That made my day!
