Hello! new user here. i'm planning to get some sort of science-related degree, most likely chemistry; will this work out?
HL English literature (I love reading), Chemistry and Physics
SL Spanish AB initio, Math AA, Business

For Chemistry you will need HL Chem and for some top Unis, another HL science.
Examples :
Bath - Chemistry courses (bath.ac.uk) - 36 points overall and 6, 6, 5 in three Higher Level subjects including 6 in Chemistry and 5 in a second science or mathematics course
York - Undergraduate - Department of Chemistry, University of York - 35 points including grade 6 in both Chemistry and another science/mathematics at Higher Level, or 36 points including grade 6 in Chemistry at Higher Level and grade 6 in at least one other science/mathematics at Standard Level
Newcastle - Chemistry Degrees | School of Natural and Environmental Sciences | Newcastle University (ncl.ac.uk) - 32 points including Higher Level Chemistry grade 6. Standard Level Mathematics or Mathematical Studies required at grade 5 if not offered at Higher Level.

Don't forget to also look at other related degree subjects - Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Chemical Physics, Natural Sciences etc.

better to do hl math instead of english. as someone who picked hl english for the same reason, i'm not doing very well in english currently. loving to read isn't enough, you have to understand how the books you read talk about a certain issue in the world. i like psychoanalysing my characters, but not in relation to the real world, so i'm not doing good haha. and math will be helpful in a sciencey degree anyway.

i'm planning on switching to hl AA math, since that's more useful for sciency-physics and chem degrees anyway, just gotta wait for a final 3wc for my parents to agree lol

How did it go? I definitely hope you managed switching to HL math AA, it's definitely a better choice if you are doing science especially chemistry in uni, you'll be better prepared and ofcourse the credits, so definitely recommend Math AA in HL and English definitely in SL.

Credits for US/CAN universities. There are no credits for UK universities.
