High 2:1 dissertation, still possible Mphil Oxbridge?

I am scared I am getting a high 2:1 (3.7) in my final dissertation for my bachelor degree instead of a first. It also doesn’t help that I go to a small college that is relatively unknown. Luckily my cumulative gpa will still be a 1st (3.91).

Since I might want to get into academia I am scared this might close some doors. I would really like to do an mphil in either Oxford or Cambridge next year. Do you think my chances are ruined now?

No that won't be a problem. I'm currently doing a PhD and don't think I even mentioned my dissertation mark at any point in the application/interview process. They only really look at your overall grade plus any other experience you have.

The entry criteria for a lot of Oxbridge Masters are usually a high 2:1 not a first. They will see your grades as they will get a transcript from your current uni but a high 2:1 on the diss with a 1st overall will be fine.
