IGCSE Edexcel Physics Paper 1 conversation

How did you guys find the physics paper 1? I’m so annoyed that they removed the questions asking for the equations which are in the formula sheet 😭

i think the formulas threw me off the most - and the waves question
Ikr I was so annoyed they removed those questions but overall it wasn't bad - I found the whole last question abt the tangent and the distance awful and I found the magnetism hard tbh but everything else was decent the light waves was kinda bad tho and the hookes law forces for me

i said the red giant expands, the white dwarf collpases. the red giant looses heat, the white dwarf gains heat

I revised so much on radiation and literally nothing came up 😭

I got really confused. I just said a bunch of differences like their size, their temperature, their stability. I had no idea 😅

Omg lol that was awfulllll. I got like chemical decrease, nuclear and thermal increase and the other one stays the same but I genuienly guessed lmao

Yes I did! I just guessed tho because my teacher only taught us the lifecycle of a small and large star

i put that nuclear and chemical stay the same, gravitational decreases as it collapses, and temp increases, but other people put different stuff so i have no idea. i think the grade boundaries are gonna be low this year lol

Ok good I put the same cuz no chemical reactions were happening and the particles were moving together so their GPE reduced

yeah idk why everyone on this chat is saying chemical and nuclear changed because i had the exact same thought process as you: there were no chemical reactions and nuclear fusion hadn't begun yet

if ur talking about distance travelled, you had to use v^2 = u^2 + 2as, solve for a, and then insert that into equation and then solve for s.

well i tried that but bc it was a curve you couldnt acc make a triangle
