Our top revision tips

Whether you’re about to sit A Levels, GCSEs or are revising for final university exams, it can feel stressful and overwhelming tackling revision.

Here are some tips from the University and our librarians to help keep you focused and calm:

- Take regular breaks you’ll get more done if you’re well rested. Build breaks in to any revision timetable you use.

- Find a good place to study, whether it’s a quiet corner of your house, the library or the garden - whatever works for you.

- Get some friends together for a study group and encourage each other.

- Set yourself some realistic goals. Give yourself small rewards when you’ve ticked them off!

- Escape your studies with a good book, a walk or some exercise to help you feel less overwhelmed.

- Stay hydrated, drink plenty of water - it can help keep you focused by improving concentration and attention.

- If you’re not sure about something or worried, ask a relative, friend, teacher or tutor for support.

- Remind yourself that exams aren’t forever and you CAN do this.

- Plan something to do with friends or family to celebrate finishing exams. Whether it’s a holiday, a theme park visit or a day at the seaside, having something to look forward to will help you push towards the finish line.

Good luck to everyone sitting exams in the coming weeks!
